Happy 50th Anniversary to Woodstock!

August 15-18, 1969: Bethel, New York was the place to be...

It's estimated that 25,000 people first rolled up to the small farm town to catch a lineup of 32 acts at Woodstock Music and Art Fair. Attendance peaked at 400,000 for artists such as Jimi Hendrix, the Grateful Dead, Santana, Janis Joplin, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and The Who. Woodstock is still considered one of the greatest moments is music- and counter-culture history and is considered #19 in Rolling Stones' "50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll:". During a time when there were no cell phone cams for Instagram pics or show recordings, and no text messaging find your friends, this event brought together almost half and million people, giving attendees a sense of freedom, peace, and unity. 50 years later, we appreciate the movement that our festie fam embraced half a century ago. Without Woodstock, music festivals wouldn't be what they are today.

We're just as bummed (or confused?) about the cancellation of Woodstock 50 and planned to release an entire collection of limited edition hats in honor of Woodstock's 50th anniversary. It was important to us to have a fitted hat in addition to a bucket hat and snapback hat. The design needed to be as iconic and legendary as the fest itself and the original poster artwork was the perfect piece for inspiration. The original dove and guitar artwork by Arnold Skolnick featured on the 1969 "Woodstock Music & Art Fair" promo poster is one of the most highly recognizable images from the festival. Our collection pays homage to the original artwork, using both symbols from the poster and a color palette reminiscent of the groovy and psychedelic 60s. Designed by Marissa Favazza, one of our St. Louis design partners, this collection elevates the Woodstock vibes with a modern twist a la 2019.
